Hey guys, Dr. Watt from Pinecrest Chiropractic. I’ve got a dummy here with me. This is Landry. He’s going to help us show you what three things that you can do at home for your constipated baby look like. Now, these are three simple exercises that can help get things moving again.
Belly Rubs
The first one’s gonna be belly rubs. And you’re gonna rotate in a clockwise direction, starting from the baby’s right side, across the belly, down to the left. That stimulation is oftentimes enough just to get the large intestine to start moving and pushing that fecal matter out so that they can have a bowel movement.
Bicycle Kicks
The next thing that we’re gonna do is gonna be bicycle kicks. This is a very common one as well. You oftentimes have to work into it, and Landry’s ready for a nap. So he’s gonna be a little grumpy with us on this video, but that’s okay. We can still work through this exercise.
We’re pretending like he is riding a bike. We’re getting movement once again through the pelvis, through the low back, and this is gonna move us directly into that third thing that we can do.
Knees to Chest
We push both knees up towards his chest. Now, oftentimes, if you have a very gassy baby, you’ll actually get the baby to start farting during this process, right? Now, Landry doesn’t have that issue, and he’s been doing great, but it’s super common.
Doing These Exercises at Home
So we’re gonna roll through clockwise belly rubs, bicycle kicks, and knees to chest. All three are very simple things that you can regularly do with your baby at home to help them make sure that they’re getting that gas out like they need to and help them not be constipated. ‘Cause if baby’s not happy at home and constipated, nobody’s happy at home.
